Planning for Success: Gather information

Searching for drawings, schedules, data and manufacturers' specifications can slow any analysis down to a crawl.

If you want to start at a good pace, get all the information that you can before the first meeting.

  1. Have drawings, P&IDs and manuals immediately to hand
  2. Locate any relevant hazard analysis documents
  3. Do some ground work to find out the general functions of the equipment
  4. Gather basic financial information such as the costs of downtime and labour
